An interpretation of the Lone Power of Diane Duane's Young Wizards series.
Argh, every time I draw this guy he comes out looking ten years too young, yet he's still the only character in YW that I can actually, you know, kind of draw. Oh, and he always winds up having, like, three times as much hair as I originally intend.
This was nevertheless really fun to do. Aside from the stars and the text, all of this was done with the same size and type brush, all in color--no prework or sketching or anything. I like the result, despite the lack of detail. Maybe I'll use this technique more often.
Text is from "The Tyger", by William Blake. I've always connected that poem with this character, for obvious reasons
Oh gosh, you know, I absolutely love the Lone Power and there is not enough fanart for him. But yours is lovely. It just astonishes me. I like how his hair looks, like it's almost on fire.
This has to be one of my favorite things you've done! It's such a great idea, and so pretty, (I don't think I should be using 'pretty to describe the LP but...)
I just love everything about this...
The stars were really fun. I spent, like, half an hour messing with them and making them all rainbow-colored before I figured that, no, the LP does not want to look like a hippie child plzkthnx XD

XD You know, now that I think about it, it kind of bears some passing resemblance to that one pic you did way back when... you know, the one with the bird on his wrist? Except, like, reversed.
Thanks!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!

My only accomplishment as an artist is I got fanart into Newtype USA's April 2006 issue. But hey, that's works for me.
